Next Meeting this Sunday!

The Great Grange Road Big Lunch 19th July 2009

Our Road, Our Party!

Grange Road was once a bustling community; let’s make it one again!

Inspired by the Eden Project’s Big Lunch campaign, residents of Grange Road are organising our own Street Party for the 19th July. Not only is this a chance to meet your neighbours, but it is also an opportunity to share stories and swap skills.

You can join in if you have something you can share or even if its just because you want to!

Can you cook an amazing curry?

Tell a good story about the history of Grange Road?

Give great gardening tips?

Sing a song, bang a drum, strum a harp or generally make some noise?

Make the best cup of tea in the world?

Draw a brilliant picture?

Show someone how to knit a scarf?

Or are you a local kid who would like to get involved in an arts project about the history of our road?

Our Big Lunch is not going to be just about the 19th July, it’s about Grange Road and our community!

Come and meet us this Sunday (21st June) at 2PM at the Kitchen Garden Cafe on York Road.

  3. Saw you are holding a Big Lunch and thought you might be interested in a competition we’re running ahead of the day itself. I am from Raindance, the organisation that promotes independent film and runs the Raindance Film Festival -- we’re inviting people to make a film about the Big Lunch and offering two £1000 prizes for the best. There’s still time to enter the competition if it’s of interest. Full details are at http://raindance.tv/thebiglunch

  4. Due to unprecedented demand to enter The Big Lunch Short Film Competition, some filmmarkers have been requesting a bit more time to complete their films. We're pleased to announce that we can extend the competition deadline until midnight Sunday 5 July. Competition detailss at http://raindance.tv/thebiglunch

  5. Hiya, I'm up for having lunch outside weather permittin. I spoke to my neighbours who are musicians and they would be interested in playing some music but I guess they'd need to know more details. They recently played in York Road for the KH Festival and were great. I am a writer so I can read some of my short stories and I've got a young French Student staying so maybe we can make some cakes. I wondered which part of the road would be used, if you have permission, what provisions are being made about the clash with Eid Mela in KH park? What happens if it rains? And is there a contact email address I can write to about more info?

    Thanks
    Tina

  7. Hiya, I'm not sure I'll be able to make it due to unforseen circumstances. Plue there has been no new news posted about what's going on or if it's been cancelled?

    Best wishes
